Over the past weeks I have heard many views on why are we not recycling when people continue to innovate and come up with interesting ideas on how to use instead of abuse waste products that are thrown away.
I answered a blog by Waste Management recently giving my thoughts on why things just do not happen.
We have certain technologies that can use for example tyres for recycling into play grounds and other surfaces for safety but there is only so many of these projects that can be covered. We need a wider vision of how to use tyres in building or reusing as flood barriers
Plastics and Polystyrene have both given long term headaches to many as they are very useful generally but a nightmare to get rid of or reuse on a large scale - but again the remoulding of Polystyrene can be used in building structures. Plastics also can be reused more effectively in a different form if the mind could only think further than packaging
Why does this not happen - unfortunately Governments do not find this profitable to bend and re-master new ways to use something that costs billions to landfill each year. It is seen that we have a big problem because of the growing mass of continued waste we as humans produce but their lack lustre and often blindfolded minds remain closed to dealing with the problem that has been increasing for years
